About Me

CURRENT MISSION

have the best COUCH in the Universe!!!!!

ABOUT ME

Well i'm tall, skinny, white and have a little bit of a big nose. The other day one of my students said i look like a bird...i took that as a compliment. I would say i'm very agreeable and others focused. I enjoy meeting and learning about others! I also enjoy family, golf, skiing, snowboarding, backpacking, fly-fishing, eating and being still. I don't think we do that enough, especially us Americans. Busy, busy, busy. We so easily fill our lives to the brim with stuff, activities, jobs, people, all of which can be great...but can easily be too much. Keep it simple, enjoy the present!

PHILOSOPHY

It boils down to Jesus. I believe he is who he said he was, God. He is the beginning and the end and apart from him we can do nothing. We were made to live a life fueled by a relationship with God and seeing Him, which is seeing splendor at work. "He gets the glory and we get the joy."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like this idea, my friend from France just told me about it today, and i immediately hopped on and signed-up. I really enjoy helping people and showing them a world i am familiar with, that they have not yet experienced, what a blast! Hopefully this will give me an opportunity to do that. Now that i've been in Thailand for about a year, i realize how refreshing it is when people that are familiar with a place help those who are not familiar with it. Good, honest help is such a blessing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with people in australia while traveling. Am now on the other side of that coin and allowing people to stay with me, have had two groups come through so far. Have met people in my town who are also couchsurfers! It's awesome...especially the brazilians up here...haha

Music, Movies, and Books

O man....i just don't want to bore you with the loads of music and books. I'll give you a few though, currently im reading "The Problem of Pain" by C.S. Lewis and "Jesus among other Gods" by Ravi Zacharias, along with "The Bible" by God and some other men. Music: currently loving Guster's new album, MuteMath, Citizen Cope, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones as well as a little old school Jazz with Dave Brubeck, Glen Miller and some others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well the best by far has been experiencing God, and seeing Him move mountains i didn't think possible, there is nothing that compares. But we can talk about second place contenders....ya know the temples of Angkor are quite amazing, i enjoyed those. I traveled to Krabi, Thailand about a month ago and was stunned by the beauty of the area. WOW!! Amazing beaches, huge limestone cliffs, caves and wonderful snorkeling in pristine (is that spelled right?) waters! Explored some caves in a canoe with a buddy down there...amazing. Seeing Coldplay in concert in Austin, TX was an emotional experience, and i don't even really listen to their music!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm...good box this one. I think i said a lot of what i would want to share in the Philosophy box. (see above) But im thinking about getting a grad degree in teaching, or possibly an MBA. If any of you have specific knowledge or experience in these areas, i would love your thoughts.
