About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eat my way across the world

ABOUT ME

Hi everybody my name is Brett Hickey. I've been working as a cook/chef for the last 7 year. But work isn't what defines couchsurfers is it? I may have been born in one place but I don't think that should define you and that by traveling and meeting different people you can always be learning and evolving as a person.I love being outdoors hiking, skiing, biking, scuba diving, picnicking, you name it. I love books, old buildings, old friend, new friends, animals, good wine, and great conversation. I love trying new foods and learning about peoples culture. I hope I can travel for the rest of my life as it is bar none the one thing that will always make me happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music alot I enjoy going to shows but I dont get into listing everything I know about a band or who I like. It changes all the time but if it sounds good Ill listen
I love to read I'll give any book a chance but I really enjoy the classics and well written biographies about interesting people from a unique perspective.
MOVIESSSS I'm head over heels in love with film independent, sci-fi, documentary, adventure, action, foreign you name it I'll watch it except Horror....sorry scaring or shocking myself is not my idea of enjoyable

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cooking in Italy and Peru, diving the great barrier reef, the fish markets of japan, waking up in the rocky mountains every morning. Its really too hard to just name a few things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I cook very well. I really love to cook for other people and it give me alot of pleasure being able to share a meal with other people. Through trveling I have learned to cook all sorts of different foods. I'm best when using food from the area. I can teach you skiing when Im in Colorado. I love craft beer and could teach you about pairing with food

I love to learn about others cuisine and how to cook peoples favorite dish. I try to learn other languages but find it difficult alot of the time. I would love to practice yoga more and I like trying new sports.
