About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have seemingly unreal revelations by turning inward

ABOUT ME

Funny, flawed, artsy and passionate.
Artist, athlete, bohemian and man.

INFP.

I also don't care if it is forever or just tomorrow. I just want to meet people worth meeting.

Scorching streets, skating aqua, and teeming world after hightail out of Little Egypt.

The prince in the cell is a portrait of the suffering artist.

I want to feed you. And I hope you can feed me, not literally. Books, music, film, art and the such are nutritional for me. I heard it on NPR one day when someone on the creative leg of the movie Fargo, which I haven't even seen, was interviewed. I think it might have been one the Coen brothers. Anyway, this man, he talked about how growing up his mother had books laying around, music playing in different rooms, films in other rooms as well. She felt to be healthy, feel good, was to be fed by these outlets. She had a hunger and knew it. She realized that this beast needed to be fed. And to read, explore great music, watch film, delve into the arts, whether fine arts or elsewhere, et cetera was to be fed. Apparently, to this day, if he goes home, it is still this whirlwind of this outlets hacking away at your appetite. And so, what I'm saying is, I realized this about myself when I heard it in this interview. I realized it was more true than about anything in regards to me personally. It was just actualization. And, really, my friends, those I choose to be around, we feed each other. And that's what I want.

And I know I write very stringently, but I'm adaptable, flexible.

PHILOSOPHY

That would take awhile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not how familiar you are with the Greek concept of Xenia, but that is essentially more what I'm looking for. And I don't mean that by necessity of food, bath, gift, and so on (which are some of the "rules" of Xenia). I meant if you read Greek text(s) and understand that attitude, hospitality, and general interest in delving into why it is worth meeting, hosting/staying with another, the experience itself, that is what I'm searching for. Understanding the genial, cohesive encounters where Xenia takes place in Greek texts is understanding what makes CS (hopefully in my mind) a modern day Xenia.

Interests

I like to attend engaging lectures, poetry readings, open mics, concerts, fine art exhibits, plays, hop the wine trails, volunteer, and other aesthetic/artistic/philosophical//sociological/altruistic events/modes of conversation/happenings. And this is drastically reductive in trying to write out some formulation of what I like to do. It should give you an idea without making me feel like this a project.

I'm also a pretty active person. I don't know if I run from the nightmares, run out all the bad dreams or what else is sifting. I'm a closet athlete. I love working out. Long-distance running have been my drug of choice for quite awhile now too.
We all have different vehicles to burn out the ache when it surfaces, even at different times in our life. And, well, I guess as of late mine has been to lean myself into a numbing type of pain that paradoxically pushes adrenaline and endorphins into my body which burns me into where better is.
