ABOUT ME

My main passions in life are literature and rock music. I enjoy writing (short stories but also working on novels), and playing drums. I'm also a big fan of motorcycling, both on and off-road. Some of my friends and I are planning a cross-continental motorcycle trip in the not-so-distant future.

I also enjoy reading, film, and vegetarian food. I like animals a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

Be passionate and compassionate. It's a cliche, but stick to your ideals and dare to dream. And, as Kurt Cobain once said, "peace, love, empathy."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to host people from other countries and cultures, as well as to be able to meet people who are keen to show me around their home towns on my own travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted friends from other cities in Taiwan (and in South Africa when I was there). I've also made a few good friends by staying at their places, and having them over at mine. But in terms of this website & "official" couchsurfing, I'm a n00b.

I've survived some pretty horrendous motorcycle accidents if that counts...

Seeing the splendour of the Milky Way sprayed across the midnight sky from a cave in the peaks of the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa. Seeing a wild orangutan family in the Borneo jungle. Seeing (a lot of) wild animals in national parks in SA. Seeing 5000 year old artworks and artifacts from ancient China in Taiwan. Sweating like mad and feeling very claustrophobic a few km underground in a gold mine.

I'd like to learn more languages. I'd like to pick up more guitar skills too, right now my drumming is decent but my guitaring is pretty bad. I can teach drumming and English and the basics of motorcycle riding.
