About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get out there, get past new borders, and into life. It's all one big adventure.

ABOUT ME

I'm a poetic Pollyanna and I search for the deep, exciting, novel, weird, and world-view-changing experiences of life.
Science, history, art, and people spice up my world and spark up my mind.
Money will never be as important as honesty, absolute truth never as potent as perspective, and there's no more rewarding a feeling than mutual respect.

PHILOSOPHY

There's always a reason to be glad.

Genius is eternal patience.
-Michelangelo

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to live cooperatively, share what I have to give, and be a friend. I've surfed but haven't yet hosted. I have set up trips with couchsurfers and I'm down to grab a coffee or go on an adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have backpacked in Europe and met many wonderful people there, through Couchsurfing, AirBnB, and hostels. I am always ready to recommend Couchsurfing to those embarking on trips to other parts of the world. It's the best way to meet people. I've also casually coordinated a Couchsurfing trip and meetups for coffee. It helps me escape and see new things vicariously without leaving my own town. I would like to travel again in the future though.

Interests

Going to museums, rock-climbing, backpacking, wine- and beer-tasting, trail-running, drawing and painting, gardening, meeting people, exploring a city, having a good latte in a sunny cafe, hiking and other kinds of walking, open-air markets, catching air on my bike, an earned Savasana, cooking, feeling like a kid and getting dirty

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Intimately explored the fjords of Norway, touched the tidepools of the California coast, been in the deep woods at night in a pool of car-light, hiked half-dome in Yosemite twice, been to the tops of the Sierras, bouldered in Tahoe, sneaked into Tacheles in Grunewald, Berlin, partied in the desert, watched the sunrise on the beach in Santa Monica, stayed out all night in Vegas, and helped build a robot
