Overview
About Me
It's me, Scott, and my wife, Kirsten. We live in a little house in West Texas with our two kids, a white cat, striped kitten, and a few chickens (the chickens aren't in the house...). But we're in the process of moving to South Korea.
We're not vegetarians, but we prefer meatless dishes and only rarely buy meat. We cook mostly from scratch, and we love homemade ice cream.
We like cooking, eating, writing, photographing, being involved in the community, and hosting people in our home. We have frequent dinner parties and we love entertaining guests.
We LOVE board games and have a collections we'd be happy to play with you.
I like squirrels and Kirsten collects antique maps.
We're pretty laid-back. We take things as they come, and are not too worried when plans go other than planned. That being said, we also prefer it when our couchsurfers are communicative about their plans, courteous, and tidy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We used to host couchsurfers on a fairly regular basis. We love hearing people's stories and meeting such amazing people doing amazing things with their life. We also love it when you teach us something new: A new game, a new thing about the world, or a new recipe are just a few suggestion.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Scott has couchsurfed a few times, and we've hosted many times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time I had a garden and the first signs of green (it was the radishes) came up from the dark earth, I got giddy with excitement.
The flowers of the Kazakh Steppe after the ice melts. It is amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach photography or basic gardening skills. I teach English, composition, and creative writing, so I have some experience with that, too. I know how to make a mean pasta sauce and some killer meatballs, as well as some pretty good stir-fries. I can make some darn delicious ice cream.
