ABOUT ME

I'm a fun loving person. I'm always open to trying out new things (which is how I started couch-surfing). At this point of time, I find myself shooting for my PhD in aerospace engineering- that's something that hasn't stopped fascinating me for a long, long time now.
I like meeting new people and sharing stories and conversation.

As far as my travels go, I love adventure travel, although I like places steeped in culture and history about the same. Between the mountains and the sea, I'd choose the mountains.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couch-surfed the first time in Europe, and I really love the concept. It's a great way to meet new people. At this point, I live in a very small apartment so I don't really have a lot of space to host people all the time, but I'd still like to meet fellow couch-surfers in the area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch-surfed in France with a very gracious host who showed us around town as well and made us (a friend of mine and I) feel at home. Big fan of the process!

I've hosted a few people at my place since and it has always been a fun experience.

Pretty wide choice of movies, really. When I'm tired, I like to watch stuff that doesn't involve the use of my brain. Other times, I'm quite open to watching anything.

In books, I love reading about India and people's stories and perspectives on India. Salman Rushdie happens to be my favorite author. I also enjoy reading travelogues.

I'd like to think I listen to a fairly wide range in music, but I can get rather picky from time to time. Talk to me about the following artists/bands and I will have a lot (of good things) to say: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Paul Desmond, Contemporary Jazz Sextet.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

June 2013: Went to Central America - scuba-dived for the very first time despite my fear of open water, and then jumped on a free rope above the rainforest canopy. Fantastic experience!

May 2012 : In the last month I skydived, and I saw an annular solar eclipse sitting by a frozen lake. I thought both were awesome experiences!
