Overview
About Me
I am a South African writer, sustainable activist and vagabond traveler.
I have a deep love for all things that grow, so when I'm not typing away on my laptop I have my hands in the soil.
I am a music journalist by trade, so I am deeply involved in the music scene of South Africa, frequent festival-goer and lover of sounds.
I have traveled my home country extensively and took a 6 months backpacking trip through the UK, Europe and the Caribbean in 2017.
From August 2018 I'll be traveling through South America for 1 year with the intention to gain as much insight into local culture as possible. I am planning to volunteer my way around the continent, working within permaculture and sustainability.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a vagabond writer, roaming the world as I find time and ways and means.
Finding ways to best travel on a budget and meet local people from the many beautiful places I find my feet in.
I am always looking to gain new skills and experiences in each country I visit, connect with local friends and find way to fully immerse myself in the destination.
Interests
I'm a music, lifestyle, travel and environmental journalist with a passion for anything musical and green.
An avid reader of pretty much anything fictional when I have time.
As a second generation permaculturist I have grown up around sustainability principles. I recently have began my own sustainability path and am looking for projects to involve myself in - within permaculture, natural building and general sustainability within this world we live in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm very passionate about music as a whole - particularly the South African music scene which I feel is amazing and I am using my writing to do my bit in putting its name out there.
Any music really can float my boat but I normally gravitate towards indie, rock, acoustic, alternative genres from all over the timeline.

I once interviewed Xavier Rudd.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach basic guitar, creative and journalistic writing skills and a wealth of information on South Africa as a country as well as its musical background.
I can teach the basics of permaculture and the sustainability principles I try to implement in my life.
I would love to learn more about my hosts and other people staying there at the time. As a writer I am constantly looking for new ideas and angles and information to craft stories around and I would love to hear yours!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories - both told and crafted from my pen.
I can share my music and good company - lots of laughs hopefully. As well as some yummy vegetarian meals. And some insight into permaculture and sustainability.
