About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Understanding the world
ABOUT ME
I'm a friendly and calm person. I'm known for never being angry or stressed. I love meeting people if I can get to know them properly. I'm an introverted but outgoing person, I love intimate conversations and having good solid fun with people.
I currently work as a digital design engineer, designing CMOS camera sensors.
I love programming, and I've done all sorts of it since junior high. Apart from that I'm interested in most scientific subjects, I particularly find neuroscience, psychology and biology/biotechnology fascinating.
I also love movies and television shows, and watch a lot of them. My most recent favorites has been Man from earth, Watchmen, Dexter and How I Met Your Mother just to mention a few. V for Vendetta and Watchmen kind of launched me into the comic book world too, so I've read those two , The Killing Joke and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen by Alan Moore and Superman: Red Son.
I'm fond of beer. I like to try anything new that I come across. I've done some simple home-brewing, but it's been a while now.
Otherwise I read books regularly. Mostly science fiction, but other genres too. Recent books I've read are Mengele Zoo, The Void trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton, The Swarm by Frank Schätzing, A Clockwork Orange, and Brave New World.
I like to be active, but I'm not a big fan of sports. I like hiking in the summer, snowboarding, alpine skiing, bicycling, basketball and dancing. I currently do Yoga.
I have a fairly varied musical taste. But I'm mostly in to indie/alternative rock, electronica and music from the 70s.
PHILOSOPHY
I have a strong desire to learn and understand everything and everyone and discover new things. I believe it is important to stay playful and free.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed 1+2 nights in San Francisco in Spring 2009. It was my first experience, and it was awesome, so I've decided I should try hosting too.
I've hosted quite a few times now, and I just love it more and more every time. Couchsurfers just seems to be wonderful people all around.
Oh, and that first couchsurfing in San Francisco? That's how I met my wife.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Electronica, Indie Rock, though I like most music. There's good music in all genres.
Books: I read mostly science fiction. I love Peter F. Hamiltons work. Other favorites are Ender's Game, 1984, A Clockwork Orange, A Brave New World, The Swarm..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to Svalbard/Spitsbergen twice. The first time I was there was in summer, and the sun would just go in a circle around the sky. Crazy.
Burning Man is also on my top list. Had an amazing experience there, and I worked on a project that I hope brought some great experiences for others.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about electronics and how computers work. If you're curious about the magic behind mobile phones and MP3 players, I can explain on any level (simple or complex) you wish.
I can teach you a bit about beer. How it's made, the different varieties, some history etc.
I can also teach a bit of swing dancing.
I'm currently learning the ukulele.
