About Me

Hey! I decided about a year ago that I wanted to go on this trip backpacking though europe, and thus the saving money began. I'm not looking to find myself, to discover some religion or faith, or any other profound meaning. I simply want to see the world and meet it's people. The goal is to do my best to have fun with others, and I truly hope to meet some lifelong friends along the way!

I am a believer in two closely related principles:
- People learn best through direct experience.
- People grow the most when put in uncomfortable situations.

I have no clue where I'm going to go, where I'm going to stay, and how I'm going to get there. But I do know that I am going to do it and make some friends along the way!

Enough about this trip, this is an About Me section, not About The Trip I Am Taking section.
I am a low maintenance person who loves to meet new people. Between myself and the person reading this, I am poor at talking to people within the first ~5 min of meeting them. After that it's smooth sailing.

I am currently in University studying Mechanical Engineering, graduating at the end of 2023. I'm working on starting a business right now and the goal is that will be up and running by the time I graduate. Though my specialty is mechanical engineering, I enjoy artificial intelligence and circuit design a bit.

I live in Florida, and thus I am a big fan of water sports. I enjoy fishing, surfing, tubing, diving (scuba and free), spearfishing. I have ample opportunity to enjoy nature there, and I have been trying to take full advantage of it in recent years. Really any activity I can relax doing I will likely enjoy, but the high-energy ones are never out of the question.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The world is large and diverse, yet it is small and simple at the same time. Vast distances can be covered in hours and take you from place to place and though there are countless creatures on this earth, they are all ruled by the laws of nature. I want to take advantage of the small nature of this big world to experience the beauties and creatures that lie on it. The most interesting creatures, of course, being people.

I want to meet people, discover what they love and hate, what they do and avoid, and try to understand how they see the world.

I have no experience with couch surfing thus far since this is my first time traveling out of my country, but I hope to develop this portfolio much further in the coming months, and hopefully I will make some friends along the way!

Interests

Down to try anything that won't get me seriously injured or killed.
I try to put myself outside of my comfort zone as much as possible, but I'm not an adrenaline chaser. If I can relax while doing something, odds are I will enjoy it.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, best book imo.

Movies are my favorite form of media by far, and movie theatres are a big part of that enjoyment for some reason.

I'm good with all music, just have to be listening to the right kind to fit the vibe. Metal in the gym, edm for dancing, classical for sleep, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba Diving is an unreal experience, like being in another world. It's not particularly amazing, but it's the first thing that came to mind.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I am a master of none, but I am happy to teach anything that I may know enough about.
Learn: About you, what your favorite food is and why, what's your favorite hobby and how did it first start, how can a shrimp fry rice
Share: My experiences and knowledge.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
