Overview
About Me
I am a recent college graduate with Bachelor's degrees in Communication Studies and Creative Writing. While I am relocating to Denver for a marketing job, my ultimate career goal is to obtain my PhD in Media Studies and teach at a liberal arts college.
I'm a published writer, with publications spanning a decade in genres including fantasy, short stories, and poetry, as well as academic writing. My work revolves around themes of gender, sexuality, US politics, family, history, and pop culture. I have a particular interest in transgender rights and activism.
While not studying or writing I enjoy cooking, playing and listening to music, traveling, and animated TV shows. My favorite way to spend a Friday night is kicking back with some good friends, enjoying a meal and 420, and talking about life, the universe, and everything. I'm a sucker for a well-told story... and chocolate... and puppies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent three weeks studying in Belgrade, Serbia. That was the first time I left the USA. I found myself in a country where not only was the dominant language not English but the Serbian language uses the Cyrillic alphabet! This challenge stuck with me more than most anything (beside the amazing people!) because it radically altered my understanding and appreciation of folks living in the USA whose first language is not English.
