my name is Vitek (he/him) and I'm a 24-year-old scout leader and a graduate student pursuing two master’s degrees in Economics and Criminology.

I enjoy traveling and have a strong interest in politics. I appreciate a good cup of tea or coffee, but I won’t say no to a cigarette or a glass of wine either. I’m always open to learning from others and equally happy to share my own experiences.I love exploring cities, and forgotten streets and admiring old houses. I'm a Boy Scout and I love the outdoors - but cities remain my passion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel - but being a poor student, I need to save as much money as possible. I can't afford luxury hotels. Couch surfing also gives me the opportunity to meet "locals", locals who usually know the most about cities because they live there themselves.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite performers are Leonard Cohen, Melody Gardot, Zuzana Navarová, Jana Lewitová and Katarza. It is basically all sad blues with hints of folk and chanson.

My favourite film genre is psychological dramas or historical films. The film that impressed me the most is the film based on Jerzy Kosiński's world bestseller The Painted Bird. Václav Marhoul's film The Painted Bird, an adaptation of the world bestseller of the same name.

I can't say which is my favourite book - I've read a lot of good books. At the moment the book "The Expulsion of Greta Schnirch" by Kateřina Tučková resonates in me. The book is about the forced exile of Sudeten Germans from the borderlands after the Second World War.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 14, a friend and I organized a event to raise money, clothing and food. During Advent season we took everything to the refugee facility in Bela pod Bezdězem - a refugee centre in the Czech Republic. That was preety cool…. :)))
