About Me
Well, hi, I'm Maria. I'm your geeky, openminded and slightly shy lady in her late twenties. I tend to talk way to much, but I am capable of shutting my mouth and listening to new people I meet and stories they share. I also have odd sense of humour, the less something makes sense the more I laugh.
I am typical opportunist I guess. Whatever happens, happens. I tend to freak out sometimes, but everything turns the best for me in the end. I'm also advocate for positive thinking and this whole "fake it until you make it" while adventuring.
PHILOSOPHY
“Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here.” - Neil Gaiman "Make Good Art"
or
"Sometimes, wrong train can take you to right station"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't surf much, cause I lack time and coins for traveling in general novadays. But when I do, I often discover that I learn much about people and, suprisingly, myself.
Interests
World domination, duh! :D But for real, I like to draw. Can't tell that I'm good at it, I simply enjoy it. I also like to write short stories. No big stuff at the moment, but oh you wait Neil Gaiman, here (I will) come! ;)
And since I'm not the best drawing artist I became a photogrpaher ;) I mostly do concerts, but I'm slowly going on new fields. Since I'm a concert photog, my traveling often includes seeing particular band live. My little hobby :)
Aaaand since I've studied greek, latin and english, I'm sort of wannabe linguist who gets excited bout sounds (you know that joke bout schwa? No? Oh well...).
I'm also a quite passionate gamer (mostly rpgs). I'm currently trying to finish the Final Fantasy saga (5 done, 10 more to go... not counting spin-offs).
And obviously I love to travel. I wouldn't be here if I didn't like to travel, I gues? ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to what I like and I'm in the mood to listen. I listen to tons of heavy music (oh wait, I still do), but I'm also into electronic music, folk stuff, some mellow tunes and whatnot. It's pretty much everything... Check out my music taste here: https://www.last.fm/pl/user/slaniex
As for my favourite movies... Recently I watch mostly documentaries (cause I like stories about people or certain topic), mingled with whimsy fairytales and a bit of sci-fi, with generous amount of animation. I also don't look down on well written dramas. The "well written" part applies to the previous genres obviously.
And since it became kinda "in" to watch some tv-series, my fav series include following: Supernatural, Vikings, Futurama, Over the Garden Wall, Cowboy Bebop, Monty Python's Flying Circus and Dead Like Me.
And I'll just mention that I'm picky like hell while choosing books. I guess teen years spend on reading mediocre fantasy novels weren't such a waste, since I got some sort of taste in books :D Recently I'm getting into classic journalistic feature stories. Life is sometimes so unpredictable that I don't need fantasy novels as much...
My fav authors include Neil Gaiman, Aldous Huxley, Melchior Wańkowicz, Terry Pratchett, Andrzej Sapkowski.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Does approaching (being slightly tipsy) band called Grailknights before the show and saying that I could take part in their stage show and being accepted to play Evil Dr Skull counts?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk for hours bout photography and never get bored, so please, tell me when to stop. I'm serious!
