About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finish my studies and have as much fun as possible in the meantime.

ABOUT ME

I'm a student of Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. I'm in my 1st year of Postgraduate English Language Translation studies at the Faculty of Arts and in 4th year studying law at the Faculty of Law.

If you asked my best friend, she'd probably say that I'm rash-headed and chatty (although personally I prefer the words "outgoing" and "adventurous"), but I like to think that I'm also reliable and responsible.

I'm the eldest of four siblings - we're two sisters and two brothers, the youngest two being just 8 and 10.

I never remember jokes, love my family and hate horseradish and arrogance.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to spend it waiting for something to happen.
Live so that when you turn back and look at your life you never regret what you see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've heard about Couchsurfing for the first time about five years ago and I was absolutely fascinated by the idea, but it was much later that I actually started to think this might be something for me as well. Can't wait for more experience!

Interests

I love reading - being in a library feels close to heaven and when I start reading a book, I'm practically useless until I finish it.

I love travelling and meeting new people. It's a relatively recent hobby, but one that's escalated into such dimensions that now I can barely stay home for a few months without getting itchy feet.

Ever since I was about eleven I've enjoyed cooking - especially trying new recipes and experimenting. Exploring new cuisines is also one of the main reasons why I like travelling so much.

I love music - used to play the guitar and the flute but since I entered university I've hardly played at all.

Contrary to popular belief, I like sports as well - especially skiing, snowboarding, cycling, and even (despite being pitifully hopeless) playing tennis. I'd love to learn horse-riding one day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Generally, I'd choose reading over watching a film any day, although I do enjoy anything with Rowan Atkinson in it, and Stardust is a film I could watch a hundred times over and never get bored of it.

I love Red Dwarf, Black Books, Friends and Game of Thrones (the first three seasons actually, before they started mutilating the books too much).

Favourite authors: R. E. Feist, S. Lukjanenko, J. R. R. Tolkien, N. Gaiman, G. R. R. Martin, and almost any British classic (Wilde, Dickens and Orwell at the top)

As for music, anything from classical music to hard rock, as long as it's good. All-time favourites: Pink Floyd, Green Day, U2, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Queen, Frank Sinatra, Edith Piaf, Beethoveen, Mozart, Verdi...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing that's ever happened to me was my little brother and sister being born, and then perhaps watching night-time New York from the top of the Empire State Building.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Czech Republic, United Kingdom
