About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live, learn, grow, and discover.
ABOUT ME
Hello world! I'm totally new to the couch surfing experience, but i'm looking forward to seeing the world through other people's eyes. I love meeting new people, even if I come off as a bit shy and reserved at first I love a good conversation/argument, whatever. I was a Linguistics and Japanese major living in Massachusetts, but then I went back to nursing school and am currently living and working down in Nashville. I thrive in the cold weather, though I find few things more enjoyable than curling up under a blanket with some hot tea and a good book, or even better some good conversation. I can sort of bake, I love to go on hikes and runs, get lost in a museum or just roam paths unknown.
PHILOSOPHY
Maybe not a philosophy, but I'm a big fan of the alleged quote by Mark Twain stating thus: “Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to be able to give back the same level of kindness that others have shown me, and to connect with people, being totally open to new cultures and experiences. If someone wants to just hang out and chat, i'm totally down. I can play tour guide for my neck of the woods and share any useful/interesting knowledge or services I have to offer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a successful surf up in Canada last autumn with an absolutely wonderful host. Hope to surf again soon, and eventually be able to host as well.
Interests
Hiking, running, sailing, reading, cooking (or attempting to),
I like movies (but not scary ones), music, food, sailing, running, hiking, cuddling, sightseeing, stargazing, getting lost, and trying new things... :p I also love to travel, study languages, learn about different cultures, read books (fantasy/sci-fi are my favorites), hang out, etc. Really just trying to live my life to the fullest.

Music, Movies, and Books
Dr Who. Imagine Dragons, His Dark Materials, Hunger Games. Looking for Alaska. With the political climate what it is, i'm re-reading several dystopian novels like 1984 and A Clockwork Orange.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a semester abroad in Japan and took a mini hike up Mt Fuji, as well as visiting some amazingly gorgeous temples in Kyoto. I've spent many a summer on lake Michigan sailing, kayaking and windsurfing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've dabbled with a bit of silversmithing and would love to take it up as a more serious hobby. I like learning from everyone, all opinions are welcome, even if I don't agree with them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a good sense of humor, and always a spare set of hands to help with.
