We love traveling. We love camping. We love meeting and talking to interesting people. We have embarked on a journey of discovery. We gave up a home and a cat to journey the world. Now we are living in Shenzhen, China where Jill is teaching English and Martin meets people.

We love exploring - both urban and rural areas. We are curious about everyone and all ways of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When we lived in Minneapolis, we hosted as often as we were able and thoroughly enjoyed meeting people from all around the world. We went to some of the events within the Twin Cities/ Minnesota group. We couch surfed in Paris and Lyon, it was a super experience. Now we live in Shenzhen and love to socialize with couch surfers. Martin often helps to organize or host Couchsurfing events too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We mostly have hosted surfers for the last few years, which we love to do because we get to meet people from all around the world. We also have surfed in Paris, Lyon, and Chicago. Every couch surfing event we've attended has been a blast. We've participated in the MSP couch crash in 2012 and 2013. Lately we have met an amazing group of Couchsurfers in Shenzhen.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw the Northern Lights, biked through rural France, sat in a hot spring in Iceland, climbed Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, chased ice cream trucks in NYC, spent midsummer in Sweden, hiked along the north shore of Minnesota. In July 2014, we sold our stuff, quit our jobs and hit the road. We drove through a bit of Canada and the east coast of the US before flying to Mexico and spending 7 months traveling through Central and South America. We bummed around Australia, Vietnam, and Malaysia for 5 months. Now we are in Shenzhen until 2018 or more.
