ABOUT ME

This is the fourth or fifth go at typing a profile attempting to make myself sound cool. I think we can all agree I've achieved that.

I'm going to take the easy route and just list things I do rather than analyze myself as a person: I record and produce radio commercials for some of the biggest radio networks in my home country of New Zealand. I like music and the whole recording and production side of things. I also ride a skateboard and own a turtle.

I am described by some as particularly mellow and easy going and I try not to sweat the small stuff.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was part of a household that hosted several couchsurfers over the period of about a year, and surfed some couches while backpacking in 2010

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with some great hosts for a couple of days in Manahttan October 2010. I have also hosted couchsurfers in the past. I loved meeting new people from all their varied backgrounds and cultures, finding out more about the world I am a part of and trying to show them all a good time.

Skateboarding. Audio engineering - recording and mixing music. Film and photography - I'm trying to write and direct some zero budget digital short films right now, so if you come stay you may be called upon for your acting skills!!

I am a great admirer of Woody Allen's films, hence the CS username "Sleeper". "Annie Hall" and "Crimes and Misdemeanours" are favourites. I like other filmmakers whose work also exhibit excellent photography like Kubrick, Bergman, Wes Anderson and the Cohen brothers.

I am a big fan of music across many genres - from great singer/songwriters like Leonard Cohen, Bowie, Elliott Smith, Neil Finn and John Fruscinate - to classic hip-hop like Wu Tang and Nas - to bands such as Radiohead, the Smiths and Joy Division, through Pink Floyd and all the way to Bad Brains, Sabbath and the Misfits.

A lakeside fall sunset by a bonfire in the woods in rural Ontario was definately a high point of my last trip abroad.
