About Me

My name is Huy, but my friends, especially International friends, prefer to call me Panda as it is easier to spell and to remember and I'm 100% fine with the name (It's rather a precise depiction of my appearance :D). I am a 22 years old guy from Sai Gon, Viet Nam, currently studying as an Erasmus student in Ghent. My major is Communication and Linguistic.

I would like to think of myself as an open minded, energetic, positive yet quite close-mouthed person. I love learning about other cultures, their languages, and customs. I have given all my heart and soul for photography and travelling since the first time I traveled by motorbike around my country. For me, travel is not to get to the destination but to gain knowledge and new friend along the way.
One crucial thing about me is "I LOVE FOODS!!!" I consider food as one of the most important portion of cultures. So I want to try local foods from wherever I go. No matter it is an extremely tasty dish or a hard-to-eat one, I will take my chance with them.

I have traveled to some countries in Asian and have done some voluntary works. For instant, I have done a photography project in introducing and stimulating Sri Lanka's tourism and I also have participated in a project which was to help unlucky children in Vietnam.

PHILOSOPHY:
- One becomes a beginner after one thousand days of training and an expert after ten thousand days of practice
- Follow my heart and believe in my dream then my dream will come true

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have known about Couchsurfing for a while although have never really looked into the site any further not until I got to Belgium. As I just participated in Couchsurfing, I am crossing my finger that I could have a vast of chance to connect and understand better the world around me and the people who inhabit the many diverse region within. And because occasionally you can find a fun person to talk.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music (Country, pop, rock, ballad, EDM, etc.) The song just needs to be suited with my ears.
I love books that can offer you more knowledge about life, cultures and people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Have a walk of 30 km in a tropical forest full of leeches wearing shorts without boots or long-sleeve shirt (A crazy one maybe). I Ended up have leeches all my legs but it was fun anyway
- Eat snow which on the street (I can help myself from the first time I saw snow)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you everything I know, if you want to learn. For example: using chopsticks, taking photos, cooking Vietnamese foods and some Asian foods, etc. I like it when someone teach me something good from them.
Gandhi's quote - "Live as you where to die tomorrow. Learn as you were to live forever".
