HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've surfed a few times and would love to host someone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my husband an i surfed one couch so far, and i've surfed a few by myself or with a friend. i did travel around the US when i worked for TGIFRidays. we stayed with other employees, friends, relatives, and worked as we went. we showered at campsites and truckstops - which were extremely clean, believe it or not - and at the beach once in florida.

Interests

gardening, napping, watching tv. after i've looked at this for a while, it looks so lame. i go out to dinner, get a glass of wine with friends, go to the movies, spend time with the family - the basics really. i spend a lot of time with friends, also lawyers, and we talk about our cases. i hate to call it an "interest," because technically it's work, but i actually enjoy it. my husband and i watch an inordinate amount of television. we also rotate video game obsessions, currently rock band.

Music, Movies, and Books

Prince music is my favorite. i listen to hip-hop and reggae dancehall, very loud, when in my car. when working, i listen to folk/jazz (tuck and patti) and r&b/funky soul (isleys, al green, aretha). at a club, i will do jazz, 70s, 80s, soca, house, and detroit bass.

I do watch a lot of movies and my tastes vary. sometimes i just want to watch a stupid comedy, sometimes i want to see old movies (cary grant and audrey hepburn are my faves),etc. i enjoy movies that i believe are interesting for their novelty: blair witch, natural born killers, moulin rouge, that sort of thing.

i don't read a lot for pleasure. what happens is that i get into a book, or series of books, get obsessed with it, stop doing anything productive and then i have to catch up with my life again. i went to paris but missed versailles because i was engrossed in the pelican brief. see what i mean?

Teach, Learn, Share

know a little about flower gardening. well, quite a bit actually, considering i've only been doing it for a few years. gardeners in general are really nice people, tend to help one another out, share gardening tips, share plants.
