I am Selahattin. I am a Turkish guy. My hometown is Bursa, Turkey. I live in Istanbul due to my school Istanbul Technical University. My bachelor department is industrial engineering. I like go camping (with tents). I also like travel to places i don't know. In Turkey, I have seen more than 15-20 cities. I really like to see new places. I love swimming. I really would want to have some experience on extreme sports. I just started scuba diving and now I have a 1 star-badge.

I made a tour of Europe with DiscoverEU Program.

Till 2023, I did not go abroad even I didn't get on a plane. In August 2023, I had my first flight and abroad experience in one. I traveled with some of my friends and I will try to go abroad more often. I want to have good time with you :)

I like do some outdoor sports such as swimming, camping, some extreme sports.

I'm a talkative person that wants to have conversation mostly.

I can sleep anywhere. I find everything to be convenient.

I don't smoke or drink alcohol, also not eating pork.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to make good relations with people while i am traveling. Also this platform creates an amazing chance to meet new people and new cultures. I wanna use the platform because I want to be in touch so many people around the world.

Also I am new on here because as I told you in About Me section, I made a DiscoverEU trip and still want to see so many places. So because of costs of accommodation and have some network, make new relationships over Europe, I want to use here.

Music, Movies, and Books

I actually don't have a music type. I can like all kind of music. But if I need to give you a type, I can say jazz or rock music is my favorite. I also like rap.

About Movies&Books, I actually don't read book much. Usually I spend my time with online researches instead of reading book. Still I watch movies but I don't keep list of it. But my favorite movie is The Martian :) I watched it like 5-6 times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if its extreme but once i went 500 km with my friend group with car. Stayed at Ankara from Çanakkale a few days and came back. But i think it was amazing.

Also the DiscoverEU trip was something amazing for me -especially for someone even didn't get on a plane or go abroad before-.

I want to add all my abroad experiences in this section each time so just gonna say the abroad experiences :)

I can teach you Turkish.

Since I am scout, I can tell you some scouting stories and teach you some loops, fire types, hiking in -15 degree at night :)

I can tell you about Turkish culture, show you photos of places I've been in Turkey. Tell my stories in those places.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences with you, tell about my hometown, my culture, our traditional foods.

Also I can teach you Turkish if you wish.

In my hosts house, I can cook some basic foods and help to housekeeping.

I can eat most kind of foods. I am open to try new things.
