About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life without regrets, do the best with what you have and don't forget to make friends along the way.

ABOUT US

visited 10 states (4.44%)Create your own visited map of The World

My girlfriend and I have a cozy home that we enjoy sharing with guests. Though we are less than 10 miles from downtown in a residential area we would like guests to have their own car to maximize their stay here in Seattle. We have plenty of free parking in front of our house but if you do take the bus, there is a bus stop down the street that will transport you to and from downtown but it takes about 45-60 min or 10-15 min by car.

We are adventurous people who love the outdoors, we forage for food such as plant, fruit and fungi, we have chickens and rabbits and a convenient garden that we harvest from. Sustainability is important to us so we try and do our best everyday for a better tomorrow.

Our dog Clyde is a super friendly Wirehaired Vizsla, very playful energetic pup who loves to play fetch.

Learning about other people and their unique experiences is why we love hosting. We love trying new food and sharing meals around the table with new friends. I think it's important we stay connected to each other, something we are losing more and more everyday.

We are lucky to live in such a beautiful region with the Olympics and Cascades so close by.

****NOTE****

If you only surf on CS but never a host, please explain why... in your message to me! I hate to be selective, but part of the reason hosts get so many requests is because this site is becoming one-sided. If you use couch surfing but never leave references for your hosts, sorry but I will probably not host you. If someone is willing to put you up and you can't even take the time to write a reference for them, it is an unfair relationship between guests and hosts. Sorry if any of this seems abrasive!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy getting out of the house when I can, but I do work full time, so I may not have enough time to give you a proper tour of Seattle, but I can definitely tell you what's worth checking out and answer any questions you have. We have plenty of space and we enjoy helping others. Holly has much more time, but she works much more on the weekends, so we try to host surfers in the beginning of the week.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed once with a friend, and though I was skeptical at first, the experience was so awesome I signed up as soon as I got home. Though I haven't been able to travel as much as I would like lately, I love to show surfers how awesome Seattle is!

Interests

We love the outdoors and living in as much harmony with nature as we can. We have a motorcycles that we love taking across Washington and exploring as much ground as we can. My girlfriend is a licensed falconer (look it up) so we often go hunting and fly her hawk. I love music and going to concerts. Primarily indie rock, but some other music too, like lo-fi, garage rock and some electroclash. I like to just go out with my friends and have a good time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmmmm, I like V for Vendetta (I am very political in some respects), Kick Ass, old cheesy kung fu movies, the classic Godzilla, Hot Fuzz, Shoot 'Em Up (I love Clive Owen movies.) For music, I like Be Your Own Pet, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, Apples in Stereo, Red hot Chili Peppers, Cake, Metric, I love the White Stripes, Basement Jaxx, just to name a few. For books, I like to read practical how-tos, ones that I will learn a new skill from or something useful. I also like to read books explaining controversial historical events, weird right?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing part of my lifetime was when I went to Europe by myself. Not that it was Europe, it was the traveling by myself experience. Not just all the things I saw, but there was something underneath it all, the fact that you could change your plans for the entire day and no one would care. A complete feeling of detachment from society, yet totally being surrounded by it and its culture at the same time

Teach, Learn, Share

I love Seattle, so expect a tourbook guide if I show you around haha. As far as special knowledge goes? I am a sailing instructor and I sail very frequently during the summer, usually inviting and surfers I am hosting along with us. I have a bit of knowledge when it comes to the military complex and international relations, especially in South America, seeing as it is my major and the area in which I was working for about four years. I have a lot of stories about my time in Colombia and the situation there.
