À propos de moi

Traveler, bit of blogger, ballroom dancer, techno hippie, wanna-be piano player, super ambitious and in constant search of an adventure, self-fulfillment, or basically just life - call it however u want.

I led a stable work'n'study life until I dropped out from my uni somewhere around 2015. I found it limiting me, so instead, I decided to stroll about the world on my own. I've hitchhiked across most of Europe and USA, seen some of the South-East Asia, lived in Spain, Thailand and Australia, just to settle down back in my main home city - Poznań. No big need to travel anymore ;)

Professionally a freelance web developer ( www.jtom.me ) since being a kid (I've coded and published my first website when I was 9 years old). But please, don't let it define me. At the moment I'm as much into journalism, philosophy, economics and history as I've been into coding. I also do quite a bit of sports (tennis, beach tennis, beach volley) and music (piano) lately.

In the past I used to have a life/travel/psychology related blog on www.jackthenomad.com , but it's been a bit of time since I posted sth there.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

To get to know other places, people, and their cultures. To keep the life exciting. To learn that every person is a bit wild and has its own cool habits. To learn, that everyone of us is equal and actually very similar to each other. Also to see what problems everyone of us has and how we can fix them.

So far every experience I had on CS was a blast. Let's keep it rolling!

Centres d'intérêt

- self-development, education

- ballroom / latino dances

- psychology; history; politics; wars; economy

- public speaking, writing

- learning languages: Spanish and Russian for now

- drums, piano - I'm still a beginner though.

- meditation, self-consciousness - I started to 'pursue' those subjects quite well since my trip to SE Asia. Rarely I have occasion to continue it, but it's always fun to talk a bit about it

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies: a lot of them. Just a couple from memory which I watched a couple of times: "Donnie Darko", "The Butterfly Effect", "Limitless", "Into the Wild", "Requiem for a Dream", "Scarface", "Scent of a Woman" and TV-series like "Weeds", "South Park" and "Californication", which totally raised me up.

Music? Anything besides pop and rap, really. Alternative rock - been listening to it for years. Electronic music? also. I'm also a bit of music festivals veteran: so far I've been 8 times at Woodstock Festival, Open'er [2x], Audioriver [1x], and hopefully soon more to come.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

1. In May 2015 I participated in "Auto Stop Race", which was a hitchhiking race from Poland to Greece. More than 1000 people started in one place at the same time just to hitchhike all the way to a beach in Greece. Since then I participated in such a race four times already, and hitchhiked most of the Europe and 13 out of the 50 United States.

Nowadays I'm hitchhiking in every country I have an occasion to be in. It's just as awesome as CouchSurfing. If you hadn't tried it already, I insist we do it on the next occasion together! I bet you'll like it.

2. I got bitten by a Boa constrictor snake in the middle of a Mexican jungle. And experienced a serious earthquake 5 days later. That was a fun week!
