About Me

American living in Budapest. I've been teaching English in a primary school here since August, 2014. I also teach drama to kids a few times a week. I'm a huge fan of any kind of arts, but I'm woefully ignorant on pretty much all sports. On that note, can somebody please explain the rules of cricket?

Miscellaneous notes:

You will very, very rarely find me in a club, but I'm almost always up for a pint or a whiskey at a pub. I do work during the day, so if you come during the week I won't be able to do too much late-night partying (although I'm happy to steer you to some good spots). I can hold my own in the kitchen, but if you can cook for me then you will have my eternal gratitude. If you have any awesome 80s movies to recommend, don't hold back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess the cliched answer is "Because I love meeting new people", but it's true. Living abroad can be a bit lonely at times, but meeting new people is what makes it all worthwhile. I'm more than happy to chill and swap stories, or take people out and show them a few choice bars.

Also, I want to do as much traveling as I can while I'm living in Europe, and couchsurfing seems like the best way to get a unique experience in every new city. Anyone can read a travel guide, but only a local can give you those stories that you tell your grandkids about.

Interests

I'm the kind of person who wants to know as many things about as many things as I can. If you're a scientist, engineer, motorcycle racer, dolphin trainer, arctic explorer, or any other cool professional, I'll most likely ask you a million questions about your life. Hearing new music and reading great books are two of the great joys of my life, and of course, I'm always down to try a good beer or wine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Exploring an underground city in Cappadocia, Turkey. Imagine seven levels of tunnels all carved out of solid rock underground. Very cool, and definitely not for the claustrophobic.

Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Montenegro, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, Turkey
