About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Nutcracker: Rated R

ABOUT ME

As a rule, I'd rather let others tell you about me. They'll paint a far more flattering portrait...or else! What they won't probably let you know: I'm kind of a slob and kind of a snob. I'll condemn a stranger for wearing the wrong shoes or the wrong face, but I'll forgive a friend for eating babies. I'm trying to
stop checking my email while around living, breathing people, but it's hard for me. I can cook fairly well, but my kitchen is so small that it makes clean-up a hassle. Wait - that was my old kitchen! I can cook again! Woo-hoo! I get ornery when I'm hungry.

PHILOSOPHY

The overly examined life is not worth living.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Bobby Short (R.I.P.), Cole Porter, Sondheim, Gotan, Gainsbourg, Billie, Ella, Trip Hop, Bhangra, Lazarperry, anything with an accordion and a dj, Ska, Klezmer, Solomon & Socalled, Terry Hall, Blues, Harpsichords, Laswell, Jah Wobble, Cantorial recordings, Acid Jazz, Brazilica

Movies:
Anything by or with Hitch, Woody, Terry Gilliam, Cary Grant, Bogie, O'toole or either Hepburn. Musicals, mysteries, sci-fi. Stuff that really transports me, like City of Lost Children...and I'd be happy to see Bound again, with the right person...or alone.

Books:
Shockingly, I don't really read all that much, but I appreciate a good mystery or pop-up book, and I never miss an issue of Hi-Horse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once weighed almost 400 lbs. That's something very few people get around to doing. I don't exactly recommend it, but it does give one a different perspective on life.
