About Me
Hey guys!!
I'm Phuong and currently living in Saigon. I've just finished my degree last year and been working for a year now. However, my feet doesn't seem to settle, and my heart always reach out to new adventures. So I take every chances I've got to visit as many places as possible. But it doesn't mean that I just want to take nice photos (well partially :P) and check-in without being exposed to local tastes.
Travelling, for me is much more comprehensive than the word "travelling" itself. It's about the butterflies you feel in your stomach everytime you step foot onto new countries, meeting people, exploring different cultures, breathing in and out the quintessence of humanity, which I think I will never have enough of it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's quite saddening to realize that the media will always be biased, just a matter of to which extent would that be. So, by being lucky enough to being hosted by you guys or welcoming people to Vietnam, I hope I would be able to see the world from as many perspectives as possible, to become mindful of every news I read, and every unique personality I encounter.
Interests
I found myself most comfortable sitting in the familiar corner of a coffee shop, doodling while listening to good music.
I also love outdoor activities such as hiking, unfortunately, Saigon is a city full of buildings, and nightlife, not mountains and trees. So I go running instead, and join some frisbee throwing during weekends. I'm quite new to the sport but I love it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time always leaves footprint in your heart, and so does that time when I climbed Mt. Fansipan. It was nothing compared to Kota Kinabalu, but for a person that hadn't done much cardio, it was quite a tough hike that I did want to give up at some point. Luckily I didn't, and the view from up high was so mesmerizing that all the exhaustion seemed disappear.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to know more about cuisines of each of the places I've been to, so learning how to cook a traditional dish sounds as sexy as it can be.
Some outdoor activities will do as well!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not that good of a cook but I can show you how to cook some traditional Vietnamese dishes, or I can steal some recipes from my "almighty" grandma and mom! If we happen to join some jamming sessions then duet might be a really fun experience :)
