About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See as much of the world as possible and meet people who are awesome

ABOUT ME

Hello. I'm Jamie, a 25 year old guy from the south of England. I'm a big time guitar player and love to travel and meet new people and mainly have a laugh. I've travelled around se asia and india with my backpack and guitar, and after seeing how amazing life can be if you step out of your comfort zone and into the wide world, don't think i'll stop for a while! I'm embarking on a big trip of new zealand and australia and hope to meet a lot of people along the way. I'd say I'm very nice and outgoing, very polite, but mostly just want to have as much fun as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life now, you might be too old to live it pretty soon. And that would suck

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm yet to get involved in couchsurfing just yet, though am super keen to. I have many friends who have hosted couchsurfers from different countries and I've always loved meeting up with them, and wanted to do a similar thing.

Interests

My main interest is music, I mainly play guitar and sing but can get by on drums and keyboard. I've written almost 50 songs now in the last few years, enough for 3 albums or so, I have been spending the last couple of years learning how to record music, it's pretty much listening to the same bit of music over and over again until you don't really care about it anymore. But once you have a finished song you can listen to which you made yourself and like, it's a pretty good feeling. So yeah, songwriting is a big part of my life and makes me happy.

If that made you think I'm cool, you should probably be aware that I did Mathematics at University. Bombshell. Though I went travelling straight after finishing and found that I couldn't really go straight into a life of nothing but numbers!

I'm also really into cricket, really love it. Travelling is the best thing and I plan to do a hell of a lot of it. Like everyone I love films, books and wasting loads of time on the internet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best moments for me would probably have been during my travels, riding a camel into the desert and sleeping under the stars with whisky and some great Canadian people in Rajhastan, India has been a highlight.

Once in Thailand I remember going on a boat trip and the guide showed us this big rock that you could climb up and jump into the sea from. It was 18 metres (60 feet) high, which is very high, I did it, it was scary.

I once worked as an assistant on a summer camp for Belgian children to learn English, I was put in charge of running a music workshop when I was very young and nervous, but at the end of the week we all managed to put together a great little gig. That was a special moment, everyone was so happy that it had gone down well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach mathematics if you needed to know anything! Maybe you are making an account of all your spendings and need someone to do the arithmetic. It's a long shot.

But seriously I can teach guitar, it's pretty easy really
