Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read! And have the bad habit of backpacking with as many as 8 books at a time. In my backpack now, you'll find The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, a box of colored pencils, and a worn orange notebook because you never know when you'll cross upon a sunny patch of grass and a couple hours of free time.. :)
I love music that makes me move, that fills me to the brim and erupts with a smile. Hip Hop and Funk is where my soul is but give me some good folk, rock, alternative indie, reggae, jazz... and I'm happy. Currently I can't get enough flamenco and am listening to Che Sudaka y Camaron on repeat.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Turning down my first professional job to travel.... nothing has been the same since and I couldn't be more grateful for the leap of faith
Teach, Learn, Share
I make a mean banana bread and am happy to share the secret of this delicious 5 ingredient masterpiece with anyone interested. (okay... slight exaggeration, but I promise it's good :)
Stories... I lived in a small mud hut in Panama for a year and by far my favorite part about tiny-town life was sitting on the ground or in hammocks sharing stories by candlelight and laughing at the nonsensical logic of folklore. I would love to hear your stories and share with you the few I know. And if we can't think of any real ones, no worries, I'm good at making them up.
Yucca, pineapple, bananas, otoy.... you name a tropical plant and I'm happy to help you plant it! And well if I haven't planted it yet, I am happy to learn how to do it. Mud huts too - learning to build a mud hut was probably one of the most useful skill I've learned during the past couple years of traveling and am always down to help spread the good word.
I was a competitive athlete my whole life and while my serious running days are behind me, I am always happy to go a run or help anyone interested learn a new ab workout!
I want to learn everything I can! Is there anything more amazing than learning from those around us?
