About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Managing our family's hostelboat in Amsterdam

ABOUT ME

I'm a social guy,
love to cook and learn about it.
Same thing goes for playing piano and djembé (african drum)

Was studying a while ago dropped out because i could not take it sitting behind a computer everyday, programming.

Then made a big travel of 10 months from Russia to Australia, it was awesome i learned a lot about myself, different cultures and made a lot of new friends.

Afterwards i worked in a hostel as manager, (still do) and graduated a while ago as bachelor of International business. I studied a bit of Mandarin in Taiwan and China and lived in Taiwan for a while and am now back in the Netherlands to manage the boathostel in Amsterdam.

PHILOSOPHY
C'est la vie

Music, Movies, and Books

Any kind of movie besides ghost movies.
Any music besides Dutch " smartlappen" and don't like the heavy metal or hardcore for more then a few minutes (unless it's one of my friends playing)

Unfortunately I'm not patient enough to read, but whenever I'm not at home i do read a bit and I love reading Terry Pratchet,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

chinese wall, was ok.
Angkor wat was amazing
really loved Vietnam
most chill moment was when i was in cambodia, on a rooftop restaurant in battambang
reading a book while laying in a hammock watching the sunset..... this is what life Should be like anytime, anywhere:)
Love travelling in Japan in general.

Teach, Learn, Share

During the years I have studied a bit Chinese in Amsterdam, Taichung and Shanghai.

I like to play piano and djembé and every time i am in a big city i try to find either one or both of them to play one (its the thing i miss most from home)
whenever I'm at somebodies place i would be more then happy to teach anything that i know.
whether it be cooking, playing piano, djembé or teaching you some Dutch or English

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not sure what a host would want from a surfer, but i'll do my best to be social and supply any info requested about any of the countries i've been.

I like to talk and share travel stories, but also understand that for frequent travellers this can be a bit dull. I wouldn't mind to cook a bit :)
