About Me

I can come across as quiet and reserved but my sense of adventure runs close under the surface. Trying to live like a leaf in a stream, I take things as they come and am generally easy-going, creative, independent, and open.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life as an artist and an explorer, always on the lookout for ideas and inspiration.

"The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe."
Albert Einstein

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the old model obselete" R. Buckminster Fuller

"We shall not cease from exploration.
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time." T.S. Elliot

"When all comes to all, the most precious element in life is wonder" D.H. Lawrence

"When you can't figure out what to do, it's time for a nap." Mason Cooley

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosting for many years and I love it. You get some of the best parts of traveling without leaving your kitchen table! I loved hosting back when I had the room for it, and I had a great time surfing around the United States and South America.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love how natural it feels to welcome strangers into my home, how easily conversations come, how quickly I feel connected, attached, like old friends. It's a uniquely wonderful experience.

Interests

My biggest passion is for making things: art, sculptures, prints, weaving, papier mache, etc. I love cooking, and eating. I love board games, picnics, and craft nights with friends. I love learning about anything and everything, and having huge stacks of books surrounding me at all times. New things are my favourite things: new food, places, people, music, movies etc.
