About Me

"I remembered that the real world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitement, awaits those who had courage to go forth into its expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst its perils" Jane Eyre

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

surf, host, surf, host, surf a bit more and share as much as possible. couchsurfing gives the rare opportunity to grow beyond one's personal horizon and space by opening your home to strangers that become friends, travel buddies, conversation partners, teachers, students...It is far too easy to become overtly anxious about people and places unknown and by keeping distance and closed doors superstition, fear and stereotypes are perpetuated and manifested. couchsrufing challenges all of that and connects people (watch ouf facebook, cs indeed connects people not just virtually =P )

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

gosh, so many great experiences, so many lovely people on the way.

but wait, there's one funny story:
I actually moved in with one of my hosts, because I was moving to Ottawa and figured it best to first couchsurf for a couple of days in hope of getting some inside tips by my host where to look for a place and what parts of the city are good etc.
turned out that after a week surfing at his place, my cshost, his roommates and i got along so well that I just stayed =)
I had the most amazing year with my now lovely friends, we shared so manny amazing adventures and community dinners and conversations and it all started here with me looking for couch for a couple of nights

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can teach you knitting, crocheting, how to fold a origami crane and approximately 10 different ways how to open a beer bottle

Learn: I'd love to learn all kinds of stuff, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, card tricks (I am though terribly impatient with card tricks I've come to realise), new knitting patterns, how to cook your favourite dish...

Share: some of your time, experience, story, a bit more of my time, experience and story favourably in combination with some good tea/wine/beer/meal
