About Me

CURRENT MISSION

livin' the dream, seeing it all as a dream

ABOUT ME

free-spirited globe-spinner, looking for opportunities, adventures, and new friends

ENTP if you're into personality types. Libra if you're into horoscopes. Reader, writer, and editor if you're into literacy. Additionally: a blues singer, dream interpreter, hula hooper, tantric yogi, and spiral spider.

In spite of all of that talk about categories, I think that they can be deceiving in making people believe that their differences prevent them from having anything in common. We all share joys and sorrows, and the whole range of feelings, even though our stories may seem different. I love meeting people who defy categories, and play with the ways that they identify.

PHILOSOPHY

A good traveler has no fixed plans
and is not intent upon arriving
-Tao Te Ching

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I wasn't participating much in the past, and am interested in becoming more involved since now I have a couch to share.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met people who were staying at my friends' house through CS, and enjoyed their company. I've only surfed a few times, and had very positive experiences.

Interests

how it's possible to understand exactly what someone is saying even when you don't speak the same language, traveling as a metaphor for life, dreams and memories and fantasies, emotion and expression, spiritual traditions throughout the world

Music, Movies, and Books

movies that inspire you to live your life the way you want to, live music played by people with good hearts, books you lose yourself in

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Dalai Lama speaking at his temple in Dharamsala, the Tibetan capital-in-exile, while drinking butter tea with monks and refugees.

Teach, Learn, Share

everyone has a lesson to share, I aspire to pay enough attention to learn what it may be

I know some stuff about some different things, which I do enjoy talking about, but that's all blah blah blah

The only real thing to be shared is this moment. Each of us reflects and contributes to the singular tapestry of being in all of its apparently separate forms. Or something along those lines, you know, mystical unity and all that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Thailand, United States
