CURRENT MISSION
Constant joyful metamorphosis
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Central California (near Sacramento) and went to a small Benedictine college in Central Minnesota. I lived in St. Petersburg ('Piter' as we fondly call it) for two years, learning Russian and immersing myself in the culture/mentality. My life was split on two ends of the world! The benefit: I can live anywhere :-) The disadvantage: the occasional feeling of rootlessness, but I'll settle down one day. I tried to make a life in Vienna for a short time, but crashed and burned - death-spiral back to my hometown of No-where-ville California, only to find that it's a really nifty town with a growing collection of nifty people. But they couldn't keep me out of Europe for long! I went back for more studies in Perpignan and Montpellier (France). I finished my MA in Interpreting and Translation at The University of Bath (England) but now the real challenge is to translate this degree into a job... in California. Yep, I'm back in California, living in Sacramento. Mixed feelings about it. It's a pretty place
PHILOSOPHY
Let's talk about it when we meet!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Making myself at home with others and helping them be at home with me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted two internationally traveling groups in my lovely Piter and hosted a few travelers in Vienna as well. I enjoyed such generosity with several hosts in Tallinn while I ran around trying to get a Russian entrance visa. I hosted a few travellers in Perpignan too! I can't host at the moment but hopefully I'll have a place I can open my doors of to travelers soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am the craziest culture-omnivore around. My inner-snob is but a poor shriveled wretch these days. I love music from Brahms to Lady Gaga. I love books from "War and Peace" to "Harry Potter".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Um...learning to live on the "other side of the world" is pretty awesome, I think. I truly metamorphosed in St. Petersburg.
