About Me

CURRENT MISSION

after Scandiland... who knows?! :)

ABOUT ME

St Augustine, "The world is a book & those who don't travel only read one page".
What can I say? I like reading ;)

Um, well let's see. I finished uni and worked as a brickies mate for a summer then started doing seasons. Snow in the winter, surf in the summer and whenever I've got any cash and a bit of spare time I try and go somewhere I haven't been and see what's up.

Working my way round I've done plenty of random jobs, from busking in Marrakech to repairing Navy vessels in Mozambique!!

I love to travel to see new and amazing things fo' sho', but I'm just as interested in meeting new people and seeing how life rolls along 'same, same but different' everywhere!?! I guess if you're reading this the same's probably true for you!

PHILOSOPHY

Still looking for it...? Well I don't really know but I'm having plenty of fun along the way. I just keep doing the stuff that I love and try to have fun. Seems to be working so far ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I can I host, but as I travel a fair bit I end up on a couch more often. I'm not denying that not paying (as such) for a bed is one of the reasons I do this, but it's way more than that! I hope that I leave as good a footprint as I can on those that I meet!

And I'd like to think that I apply the same principles to life too. Whether you meet someone through this or in the non?-virtual world?! Helping people out and showing means & ways helps my head and heart. I want people to be happy to have met me! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed on (& in) floors/couches/garages/restrooms/doorsteps/windowsills/bits of cardboard in a whole load of places and met some amazing people.

Then I found out about this and have done more of the same!

Interests

Surfing, skiing, boarding, traveling, music, guitar, books, tubing, films, driving, clubbing, cooking, floating down a river, dancing, drinking, jumping off things, eating, having a laff, meeting new peops and just trying to have a good time along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Will read anything but love a really good book. Just read 'Ice 9' and now am a fully fledged Bokononist. Before that, 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night', well written and almost a tear jerker.

Music? Just about anything but most of the time I'm listening to some laid back tunes, unless it's time to party!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, where to start? I'm not good at favourites! Here's a few highlights...

I died, got 'jump started', then survived a coma!

Standing at the top of Vic Falls, trying not to go over!

Standing on top of Pic Blanc in winter, with the cloud level just 50m below like a motionless ocean, seeing all these mountain 'islands' stretch out to the horizon. Then skiing into it!

Jumping out of a plane.

Coming out of a barrel (surfing waves not couches!)

Seeing snow in Hawaii?!? After watching an awesome sunrise.

Skiing in Morocco after a trip through the Sahara.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn off everyone, be it good things to emulate or things to avoid being/doing. Often, you get the most amazing insights from the most unlikely places!
