About Me

I'm currently on a personal growth road trip. I'm wandering the country, although I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for when I started. As I travel, though, it's definitely starting to reveal itself.

I love Grand Rapids, but I've recently discovered it may not be my place anymore. So I'm traveling, exploring, and searching; perhaps for a new place to call home, a new place to advocate against modern-day slavery, or a life experience I can't realize without stepping out of my comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been traveling the country since summer. Half of my destinations have been to locations I have family and friends. The other half I've stayed in hostels. But this winter I want to take a different approach. When I'm not camping and hiking, I'm hoping Couchsurfing will connect me with amazing people I can share my journey with.

Interests

I follow the Primal Blueprint as a lifestyle. I'm a minimalist and live simply. I love mountain hikes and spend as much time outdoors as humanly possible. And I practice meditation and yoga. Yup, pretty much a modern-day hippie...without the long hair. :)

I am spiritual but not religious. To me that means connecting with God rather than following rules and dogma.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been writing a blog since I started my travels. It's not a daily journal or a chronological itinerary. It's more about what I think and believe in the context of my trip. I'm new to writing, and I want it to be good. So I don't post very often because I spend a lot of time on each post. But I am very thankful for what it is and what it will hopefully become: www.leanliving.org.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to give back to my generous hosts. I'd like to prepare a meal, help in the garden, or share some local craft beers!
