About Me
CURRENT MISSION
get a job and get back on the road!
ABOUT ME
Slightly awkward but friendly, with what I'm told is a wit that won't quit. Keen on cooking, reading, baking, new people, foreign language, belly dance, animals and of course traveling.
Went to a few CS events in Baltimore and DC from 2010-11, alas unemployment + gas prices make it difficult to go to and from either city on a regular basis. I have since conquered the unemployment demon so maybe I can start hitting a few events in my free time again :D
PHILOSOPHY
"The terror was just so crazy, so real and I knew I had to deal with it. So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in, let it take over, let it do it's thing. But only for five seconds, that's all I was gonna give it. So I started to count. One, two, three, four, five. And it was gone..." --Jack Shephard, LOST
"Life's too short to be pissed off all the time, it's not worth it." --American History X
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Once I get my own place I'll be happy to host. But in the mean time, I'm happy to meet up with anyone visiting the Baltimore or DC area just to hang out.
Also, I've participated in a few local CS events and they have been noteworthy :D
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a great time staying with hosts in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris and the Midwest and I am very happy that I have become involved with such a far-reaching awesome project!

Music, Movies, and Books
This could take a while. I'm quite fond of all three, but it'd be more interesting if we discussed them rather than me making a huge list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stayed in cabins in the Carpathian Mountains during a class trip to Romania. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery, a lack of technology, great food, friendly hosts, and folks talking on their cell phones in horse drawn carriages.
The Rocky Mountains showed me what a real mountain range looks like for a few days in 2011.
My first bar and club visits were in Berlin during study abroad, so when I came back to the US and saw that most places close at 2 AM, I was disgruntled.
During a class trip to Auschwitz, my class was the only group there on a rainy Sunday morning. It made the experience even more haunting, and while I didn't take any pictures I'll always have a haunting picture of it in my head.
