ABOUT ME
My name is Doug, and I have lived in Kansas City my entire life. I remember being filled with joy in my youth as my mother drove us around the United States to a different location each year on our annual vacation. Those trips instilled in me a desire to see new places.
In my adult life, however, I have been on only a handful of similar road trips. Other things have gotten in my way. I have made excuses to not get out and seek adventure. I am ready now to get past all that and really enjoy life. I want to travel the world, meet all kinds of people, and see all kinds of things.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is that you can do anything you want if you want it bad enough. The tricky part is not compromising yourself, and not being scared to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Anything written by Carl Sagan. The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons by Dan Brown, James A. Michener Novels
Movies: I really like watching a good documentary, among my favorite movies are The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Big Fish.
Music: I know it is cliche to say this, but I really do enjoy listening to all kinds of music. Very rarely will I become annoyed when hearing something. My current favorite bands are: Muse, The Killers
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving with my friend to Las Vegas from Kansas City, we had to stop about 50 times to just stare in awe at the magnificent geological features before us: the Rocky Mountains, the Colorado National Monument, the San Rafael Swell. It was beyond amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
All I can offer are my thoughts and ideas, and perhaps some interesting stories. I am interested in hearing the same from other people.
