About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To help artists (especially dancers) with their business so they can live comfortably without worrying about making enough money to survive

ABOUT ME

I am a Lindy Hopper and a Fusion Dancer. If you don't know what either of those are, I have some videos at www.SmoothSavoy.com/videos.php.

I love all types of people and usually get along with everyone from the shy & humble to the outgoing & arrogant and everything inbetween. It interests me to learn about people, what they are passionate about, and why they are passionate about it.

I love eating superb & unique foods. I will gladly go to any recommended restaurants, from the local hole in the wall cafe to the upscale restaurants to the home cooked meals. I LOVE & appreciate good food (and coffee) and love hanging out with other people that love it too.

I am an adventurer & love the outdoors. I love sports & any sort of physical activity.

Games, games, games!!! from board games like Catan to thinking games like the green glass door. I love them and can play them all day.

New stuff that you are passionate about. I love doing things that other people are passionate about even if I don't think I will like it. Just share with me why you like it and I will probably appreciate it.

PHILOSOPHY

That is simple (but not easy)... To make a difference in the world & to have a great time doing it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the CS community but I look forward to meeting and talking with people about their passions. That said, I have been hosting traveling dancers at my home in Sacramento for years. Almost every month we have at least a few people stopping by to visit from out of town and we love hosting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been traveling to teach dance for about 5-6 years now, each week in a new city, state, or country. I can't even begin to describe all the wonderful people I have met along the way so I will just mention the first memory that come to mind.

In Paris I went to a restaurant that serves your meal in the pitch black darkness. You are literally blind for your entire meal. All the waiters are actually blind and are perfect at guiding you to your table and giving you tips on how to eat & drink so that you don't end up with half of your meal on your lap. For instance, make sure your finger is inside the cup as you pour the wine, so you know when to stop pouring!

Teach, Learn, Share

Partner Dancing skills - I travel the world teaching dance with a specific interest in how the partner dances relate with each other in their fundamentals.

Business Skills - I have studied a lot from business books, seminars, tapes, etc & have learned what it takes to make my art form a successful business. I am very interested in sharing my ideas to help other artists take their art to the next level as professionals.
