ABOUT ME

I was born in Eastern Anatolia and grew up in Ä°zmir, and in the year 2003 I moved to Istanbul for my university education and still living in it. The title of this section says "All about you" but I don't think it's possible for one person to say, even know, all about himself/herself. To be able to know a person is sharing something common, that is what I believe. And also I hate when people use boasting sentences for themselves. I'm just trying to be a simple human-being who likes reading, listening to music, watching movies and trying to write articles and maybe in the future even a book, and one who wants to see the human societies evolving through to being more collective than they are today : Individualism is something contrary to human-nature.

I will/do try to host people who visits my city and demand the same from other people whose cities/places I'll be visiting.

and by the way, I have a little collection of coins. I may accept coins those I don't have yet;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before CS I used to use hospitalityclub with the same username and hosted and be hosted. By couchsurfing I hosted 2 couples one from France and the other from Spain. All those people were very nice ones.

My favorite directors : Ken Loach, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Yılmaz Güney, Andrei Tarkovsky, Semih Kaplanoğlu, Tarantino, Akira Kurosawa
Music : I prefer ethnic music mostly. I gladly listen to Zazaki, Kurdish, Persian, Turkish, Arabic and Armenian musicians and trying to enlarge the list. Seldomly I enjoy classic music and opera.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

From my experiences with foreigners who visit Turkey I guess 90% of them are following the same pattern : Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar and Orhan Pamuk books... Despite of the strong Turkification politics of the state for long long years, the country still has a quite diverse cultural elements in it; trying to understand it may give a better understading of the country. And Orhan Pamuk is not the only writer in this country :).
