About Me

I am dedicated to making positive social change by teaching comprehensive sex education. The dream is to teach around the world. I am building a program called "What's Not Said" that was founded in Kenya. www.whatsnotsaid.org If you are interested in volunteering, apply online or feel free to ask me any questions about that!

I love traveling. I value curiosity, gaining perspective, and making friendships. I love improvisation and learning through comedy, riding horses, and writing/performing poetry.

I have a vivacious personality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed several times when I traveled around Europe. I loved the intimacy with staying with a local and getting to know the culture in a more personal way. My experience has been overwhelming positive and trusting.

WHY I AM HERE:
I am currently on here in hopes to meet other travelers and make friendships in or around Nairobi, Kenya during the next three months. ANY IMPROVISERS OUT THERE? Let's form a little group and play!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Favorite genres are indie rock/alternative and electronic

MOVIES: I am not particularly a fan of slower/artsy movies or dumb humor.

BOOKS: I prefer nonfiction or memoirs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Building an international organization from the ground up (in the process).

Teach, Learn, Share

AWESOME QUOTES:

"Our shame worthiness lies in that space between who we are and how we present ourselves to the world."
"All violence is an attempt to replace shame with self-esteem"
"Shame internalized leads to horror, shame let out leads to freedom"

This book explores the madness of the online world we have created where people feel empowered to deeply shame people based on a misconstrued perception online. Where either you're a hero or a villain and the best way to survive is to be bland.

― Jon Ronson, So You've Been Publicly Shamed

NAIROBI HAS AN IMPROV TROUPE!!
They are called, "Because I say So!" Let's go see them! Check out events on facebook.

If you are an improviser, let's form our own little group and play!

INTERESTED IN PARTNERING WITH US?
What's Not Said (www.whatsnotsaid.org) and team and local peer educator volunteers are looking for organizations, church youth groups, and after school centers to teach our program too. Our program helps cultivate healthier relationships, inspire new attitudes, and prevent sexualized violence. We are looking to teach our comprehensive sex education or life skills program to Kenyan youth between ages 12-18, while preferably ages 14-18. We are only here for 1 more month so please don't hesitate to reach out!

Always looking for a happy hour buddy or to go dancing. Perhaps we can even go on a road trip and explore!
