I'm interested in DiY culture, finding our own ways to do stuff- ways in which people adapt garbage into usable technology - like a form of alchemy= also art which uses recycled materials and music made on home-made instruments-playing home-made songs in the streets
PHILOSOPHY
If you miss the bus then travel with your mind...

Interests
I spend most of my time writing a PhD but also...Sailing boats- small ones-the open sea or rowing boats in a pond- the water- going down the river and exploring new places, away from the road everything looks different. Walks in the bush, jungle or,,, a big city I've never been to. I love to explore the streets and follow the 'map' of the mind. Taking machines to bits and seeing how they work. Long talks in a cafe or bar with a group of friendly people. Or talks and walks. Working on projects with people.making stuff and making stuff up: improvisation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing the eclipse of the sun in New Zealand last year without knowing it was going to happen, and later realising wow!: I saw everything without thinking "hey, isn't that an eclipse...".
Traveling on the Waipah river by night, with some friends and a 50 year old outboard engine 'the seagull': using only the stars and the reflection of the sky in the water to navigate the bends in the river...
