To internationalize. I want lasting friends around the globe. I want to discover and adopt into my life the best qualities of every culture. I want to develop my creative skills and find inspiration.

ABOUT ME

My goal is to know the world and its multitudinous inhabitants, and to spread peace and understanding. I use, as my tools to achieve these ends, my feet, my passport, my social skills, my knowledge of the English language and my ESL qualifications. I am an intellectual, an amateur poet, amateur musician, amateur historian, amateur author, amateur just about everything, and looking to broaden my horizons.

I am new to this, and am seeking contacts and friends for my brand new life here in Vietnam as well as my future travels.

Interessi

Foreign travel, hiking, backpacking, kayaking(haven't done much, but i really like it), reading novels, creative writing, poetry, listening to and creating music, nerdy stuff like anime and roleplaying games, telling funny stories, meeting people.

I also LOVE my job, which is teaching little kids how to speak English!

Musica, film e libri

I have a pretty diverse list of favorite movies - Ugetsu, Rashomon, Serenity, Lord of the Rings, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, Delicatessen, V For Vendetta, Dr. Strangelove, Saw, Psycho.... favorite directors are Alfred Hitchcock and Kenji Mizoguchi. I also love anime.

My favorite music is classical, but I also like rock, folk music, just about everything.

Books will be the hardest to list. I read lots of fantasy novels, as well as whatever is assigned for my class, and whatever people give me to read. My favorite fantasy authors are George RR Martin and Steven Erikson. I also like medieval literature, especially the Arthurian romances of Chretien de Troyes, and classical Asian literature, such as the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Tale of Genji. All classical and ancient literature, especially the epics and the novels, appeals to me, and I am open to suggestions for what I should read next.

Getting lost in the hills of northern Laos and stumbling upon an Akha village where I was offered outstanding food, powerful Akha whiskey, and lodging in the village elder's house.

Insegna, impara, condividi

Not much to teach. I am equipped with good general knowledge. I am a certified, practicing English teacher and I love it, but I assume that if you're reading this you already know how to speak English... and, if you don't, there are prob. thousands of other teachers far better than I already available on CS.

...but if you have a kitchen, we can make pizza together! I know how to do that!
