About Me

Hello there,

My name is David and I am a clinical psychologist working in Scotland. I work with over 65s, which has taught me so much, and have a special interest in severe and enduring mental health. I absolutely adore my job and the privilege it affords me to share in so many stories (which is one of the reasons why I am on here). I had planned to complete a big trip, with my partner, after qualifying but it got placed on hold because of COVID. Now that restrictions have lifted, we will be traveling through Canada, the US, South-America, Japan, and the Philippines.

Overall, I am a very enthusiastic (I have ADHD) person who is up for trying anything at least once. I love getting to know people, spending time with them, and hearing about their passions, particularly over a good glass of Whisky. I am also very independent and good at entertaining myself, so there's no pressure on hosts to babysit me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the things I love about my job is sharing in stories and this is one of the main reasons I am on Couchsurfing. I love meeting new people, sharing life experiences, being challenged and learing new things. I cannot wait to make new connections on this trip and CouchSurfing is one of the best ways to do this!

We have had many people stay with us, largely friends of friends, and are keen to open up our home once we get back from our current adventure.

Interests

Outside of work I am a self-professed nerd and enjoy gaming, D&D, board games, reading, watching anime, and fashion. When I’m not staring at a screen, you’ll probably find me doing what Hobbits do; eating good food, climbing up hills, travelling, and socialising with family and friends (I am one of 7).
