About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To become a crazy old cat lady after seeing the world!

ABOUT ME

I'm 20 with brown hair and eyes. I never know what to write in these boxes..

At school I was musical rather than sporty, since starting uni I've stopped playing oboe because it's really loud and I don't want to disturb the neighbours..

I used to be really shy but working on checkouts pulled that out of me. Since starting uni I've worked as a waitress (worst job ever), as bar staff (good) and on the Swine Flu Helpline (best job ever - getting paid to read and answer the phone once in a while! got to love Government panic!). At the moment I'm just concentrating on uni.

I live with my boyfriend, Tom. He's from the south of England so has the proper posh-sounding English accent, he's very nice, and very loud! He's on the same course as me at uni, that's where we met.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a spare room this year, and a couch. The spare room only has a single bed but there's plenty of room for sleeping bags etc - we can supply duvets, blankets and pillows.

When we graduate, me and Tom want to work for a couple of years then travel the world, maybe couchsurfing along the way! At the moment we're just hosting rather than surfing, but that may change :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got into couchsurfing through a friend at uni who took me and some other friends to the Isle of Man for a weekend. We couchsurfed for two nights with the same person and it was a really nice, fun experience (she had cats!)

Interests

I like the Lake District in the north of England, my family's taken me there my whole life, we had a static caravan on the shore of Windermere for a while which was amazing! I learnt to sail and kayak there and did a lot of hillwalking. My favourite place ever is the Langdale valley in late November, dark in the evenings, walking through pine tree forests on the way to the swimming pool.. mmm.

I used to do trampolining, I can just about do a back somersault. I have Grade 5 on piano and Grade 6 on oboe - never really liked piano though!

I enjoy watching the Formula 1 qualifying and races - I'd love to work in F1 one day.

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to get bored with predictable films.. not keen on when they're just filled with action. But I get confused if they're mostly based on talking.. so yea. I'm quite picky! Comedy films and Disney are always good :)

Music-wise I like most things that have a tune, so no annoying rap music! Muse are always good and I can't wait to see them at Wembley in September, I like Snow Patrol and Coldplay and Take That and Oasis and etc. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have a hamburger phone.. just like in Juno.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sailing a boat only requires 5 ropes. One each to hoist the mainsail and the jib (the front sail), one tied to each side of the jib to change whether it's pulled to port or starboard, depending on the wind, and one to pull tight near the rudder to keep the mainsail under control :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
