About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live by my values

ABOUT ME

I have optimism about people and pessimism about systems. I fear failure so I am constantly attempting things i consider impossible or ridiculous, which means i have to get used to failing a lot but at least it means i actually do stuff...!

PHILOSOPHY

Vegan, anarchist, feminist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to build ways of doing things without money based on mutual aid and happy accidents.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people if i'm able and in exchange for being hosted I give or share what i can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Barcelona, hosted guests at housing co-op in Ipswich but not where i currently am.

Interests

Cycling, art, film, music, dancing, climbing trees, wildlife, swimming in rivers, the sea, architecture, history, art history, culture, learning how things work, woodwork, building things, growing things, drawing things, er, that's probably enough!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some music i've been listening to: Ceschi, Stick in the Wheel, Spitboy, Bikini Kill, Jeffrey Lewis. Recently watched films: Human trilogy. Books i'm reading: Terry Pratchett - Monstrous Regiment, Peter Gelderloos - Worshipping Power (anarchist view of early state formation).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo cycling South-North through Germany back to the UK.

Teach, Learn, Share

I fix bicycles and I like helping people learn about their bike. I play guitar, started learning drums, and I sing. I enjoy doing simple carpentry and DIY, and have done bricklaying and plastering but have no training. I draw. I sew a little. I've started growing vegetables (but I'm not very good at this).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Recipes, skills, bicycle maintenance tips/advice, help with DIY projects.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In

Italy, United Kingdom
