I must admit, writing an 'About Me' section is rather difficult. It would be far easier if they asked us to write about turtles. And I actually don't know that much about turtles.
I'm a lover of travel and experience. I grew up in Finland, Japan, India and Croatia. I have had the pleasure since of living in Scotland, Iceland and the Netherlands. I have been fortunate to live and travel across the globe, and I still feel that I have so much more to see and experience! I love adventures, both small and large, and adore meeting new and interesting people.
By profession I'm a researcher, with a fascination of International law and social dynamics, and an artist, mostly focused on oil painting and hat making. I love to bake Finnish treats and go on long hikes, but my favourite thing is spending time with wonderful people and learning about their experiences. Often when I arrive at a new place, I like to wonder around and get lost, and of course EAT! Food is a wonderful way to explore a new culture, and a cheeky beer doesn't hurt ;)
Finally, I am a strong believer in respecting your host and their space. When someone is kind enough to share their space with you, it is key to give back by being gracious, unassuming and kind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I was brought up travelling, it became how I understand my cultural identity. Since travelling can be difficult with limited funds, couch surfing can be a great way to continue travelling frequently and see the world from a different perspective. Moreover it is a fantastic way to meet fascinating people who can sometimes provide some excellent tips for discovery and adventure.

Interests

I love painting, hat-making and binge watching tv shows, and can guarantee you I've seen just about everything on Netflix. I am rather obsessed with coffee due to reasons of it being amazing and a possible caffeine addiction, and use to run a Coffee Appreciation Society. I have a love for strange human behaviour and I've been known to have 30 minute conversations with friends about the definition of the word seat, however I am unsure if that counts as an interest... Also I have recently gotten very into punk folk music, but I am very open to anything funky!
