ABOUT ME
Hi!
I'm from Canada, grew up in the city Edmonton which is on the prairie but not too far from the Rocky Mountains.
I went to university for 5 years in Camrose, a small town near Edmonton. I spent a year studying in Norway and got to travel through Europe and meet people from all over the world there.
I'm a cross country ski athlete and lived in Canmore to train with a team there, and got to travel for competitions!
During the summer I work as a whitewater canoe guide and instructor near Rocky Mountain House.
I'm currently doing a Masters degree in Transcultural European Outdoor Studies. The first semester is in Ambleside, UK, the second in Oslo, Norway, and the third in Marburg, Germany, so I will be moving around for the next few years!
I like to take unusual opportunities and learn new things.
PHILOSOPHY
Be positive!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
"A stranger is a friend you haven't met yet" ... I make an effort to meet people where I go and greet people where I live.
Meeting new people is and exploring unique natural features are the highlights of traveling for me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed and hosted, with friends of friends and friendly people I met. I've found hosts through couchsurfing, but no one has stayed at my place yet through a couchsurfing request!
So far every experience has been a good one, and it sounds corny but this always reaffirms for me that the world is full of good people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There is some small thing in every day that I find amazing. It is good to recognize those too :)
I had some great hitch hike and camping experiences traveling by myself- things always worked out in the end somehow! Some of my really memorable times were when I accidentally hitchhiked a sail boat in Lofoten, a 5 day solo hike trip in Iceland (Thorsmork-Landmannalaugar)in running shoes, and a sunny Easter 8-day backcountry ski trip on Hardangervidda (Norway) by myself!
Lately I had some great trips hiking in the Canadian backcountry, and paddling huge waves on the North Saskatchewan in flood!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm one of those people who wants to learn anything and everything.
I love to learn languages.
You could draw me a map of where you come from, or I could join you for your favorite type of exercise!
What can I teach? If it's winter maybe we can go cross country skiing. Summer? Canoeing, kayaking or maybe hiking... We could listen to some great Canadian music and knit, share our favorite books and make some food.
