I've used CouchSurfing more times than I can count and can't say enough good things about the people I've hosted and have been hosted by.

Ps. Charleston, WV is not Charleston, SC. Long story. The end.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite traveling memory was flipping to reserve somewhere in the middle of Maryland heading North on US301 with a friend. We hadn't seen a gas station for over 20 miles, and didn't see any mention or hint of one other than a tiny white marker that simply read "Crumpton." We turned in the direction of what we assumed to be a city and ended up taking a little unmarked road for several miles through cornfields and overgrown pastures without any sign of well... anything. After having to stop and lean my bike over twice to move gas to the petcock side, we rode into ever-so-glorious town of Crumpton, MD. There were 3 or 4 small white row-houses built right beside a tiny gas/liquor/hardware/whateverthehellelseyouneed store labeled Outpost 544. We filled up, drank a few road sodas, and laughed about the entire ordeal. On the side of the building there was a huge picture of the universe that read "Crumpton: Center of the Universe. Feel the pull!" with a star smack dab in the center reading "You are here".

Teach, Learn, Share

Biggest lesson: Always set a gotdam max stay.
