ABOUT ME
I'm a super happy dude. I really enjoy life, find pleasure in the little AND big things. Consider myself someone who is really consistently very happy with life and I feel lucky to do so. I'm a cameraman for a living, which means sometimes I have work, and sometimes I have none, but it's worth it because I love what I do, and I fill the down time with exercise, exploring, philanthropy, and partying with friends.
I joined Couchsurfing because I believe in paying it forward, because my roommates and I have a big space at our house + we live in San Francisco, and because I like helping others (the words are tattooed on my arms so I better believe it! haha). I feel privileged to live in a city like San Francisco that people all around the world like to visit (originally I'm from a small town that was desert with nothing ever to do for fun), so it's awesome to be able to offer others a free place to stay. Plus it doesn't hurt to take advantage of CS from time to time when I save up enough money to be able to travel! Thank god for Norweigan Air!
PHILOSOPHY
Work hard, play hard, help others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Funny enough, myself and my 3 roommates all have Couchsurfing profiles and host. We rent a big two story townhouse in San Francisco with a living room that has a couple places to sleep so we like to share. If you combine our 4 profiles, you'll see we're pretty active in participating :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I host a lot more than I travel. But that's only because I can only afford to travel on occasion :) Between my roommates and myself over the last 6 years, we've probably hosted around 75 people. However when I have I take advantage (in the US and out). I've been working on a documentary film about America's homeless population, and often don't have a budget to stay at a hotel when doing so. Couchsurfing has been a godsend in that capacity too.
Interests
First and foremost exercise. Healthy body means healthy mind. Healthy food is up there too. Then I try to offset all that health, by drinking copious amounts of alcohol.
I also love backpacking and camping, hiking, rock-climbing (indoor and out), biking trips, snowboarding, exploring cities, audiobooks, tattoos, and a bunch more...
Political activism is also very important to me, and I try to think of myself as a Global Citizen (something the American Government and Media often fails to do). It's important for my country to understand our impact on other countries studying politics, history, etc... is a great way to do that. Helping Others is a great way to do this too.
And I love beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music is Punk Rock. Blows everything else away entirely. Not even in the same ballpark. Not because of it's music talent (there isn't any usually), but because of it's social and political message.
But I like classic rock. I like Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley. Tool, and a slew of other music. And I love exercising and dancing to techno and specifically dubstep (yeah I know it's everywhere now).
I love such a broad range of movies I won't even get into it here.
Fav Books: A People's History of the United States, Dharma Punx, E=MC2, The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, A Brief History of Time, The Dark Tower Series, etc...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've interviewed Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, and Chris Hedges. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to help people get into shape (exercise), and turn that positive energy into other areas of their life.
I love to learn about anything.
We share our house with Couchsurfers :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Just a safe comfortable place to stay. Me and my 3 roommates are a little less "hands on" meaning we say hi, maybe have a beer together, and then give you a key to go off and explore. We don't expect anything else. We're glad to give you advice on where to go if you'd like, and if not that's totally cool too!
