Cycling back from New Zealand to UK. Interested in mental health awareness, rugby, storytelling.

Lifeguard at Hampstead Ladies pond, but have worked in humanitarian development and in crisis response; and previous career incarnations include acting, and horse racing and breeding.

My first adventure introduced me to Couchsurfing in 2016, and I got the bug. Finally, I'm staring that world trip I've dreamed of for years!

In September 2016 I cycled to Russia from the UK raising money for refugees. It was only possible due to the kindness of Couchsurfer hosts. I met so many good people and found it extraordinary how quickly you can become family with people you only meet for a few hours.

Intereses

All of the rugby. Playing and watching. It really helped heal my brain after working in the charity sector, and made my body the strongest its ever been, and given me the biggest family of brave and kind wierdos round the world!

Mental health awareness, something we are lacking in both services and everyday dialogue. Our minds are not separate from our bodies, and the things we feel need to be consciously felt or all three elements will get sick. I don't embrace feeling the hard emotions, and definitely prefer 'doing' instead of 'feeling'... hoping this trip makes time to process some of the hard stuff.

Storytelling is so human. I love folklore and myth and legend. What's your favourite childhood story?
