Overview
About Me
I am an American ex-pat - grew up in the Seattle area, took off as soon as I could (which coincided nicely with someone's second term in office), and have been on the move ever since.
I lived in Vancouver, Canada for five years before packing up to Uppsala, Sweden for more education, finishing up my PhD in 2013. I worked there for a bit before deciding it was time to heed my true calling as a vagabond - so I started up my own company, packed my bags and embarked on life as a digital nomad.
I travel solo often and love to meet new and interesting people. I'm always up for a beer and story swap session. Ask me about Turkish baths, eating hedgehog, or watching ROCKY in a Berber home in Morocco. Check out my blog (www.biorambler.com) for some other weird adventures, including those that have made it onto my 'unbucket list'.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I've hit my saturation point for meeting other worldly travelers I'll leave CS. However, that doesn't seem to be in the cards just yet.
Interests
Learning (almost anything) & putting together the pieces of the world puzzle.
I have a weak spot for biology, and generally anything nerdy. If you like to walk fast, never go for a wander in the forest with me, I will be trying to identify all the plants (and on occasion animals) I come across.
Other things I enjoy: Languages, coffee, my Norwegian forest cat: Wally, looking through the IKEA catalog, snail mail, staring out the bus window, ice skating, writing, smiling at strangers, heavy rain, sitting, thinking, dancing, diving, planning trips, biking, rock climbing, microphotography... and more.

My favourite travel book is The Way of the World by Nicolas Bouvier. And I'm always looking for reading recommendations.
